I want to start this blog by stating that good design is all around us. Unfortunately most people don't notice or seek out good design--others live among it because it works but may not be able to put a finger on why--far fewer are the people who appreciate good design, seek it out, and value it as a part of every day life.
These are the people I seek out. I own my own company doing primarily residential design. I do it because I want to change the way people live and I want to help them love their home, raise their family in a valuable and wonderful space, and, of course, because I find it rewarding.
I have found that most people don't understand what architects do so my hope is to talk about this on this blog but also seek out good design and post it on here. My other hope is that this is a collaboration of minds and opinions both in and out of the design community--that is, if anyone ever reads this.
